How do I reuse test questions?
There are two ways you can reuse test questions. You can use Blackboard’s Find Questions feature while creating a test. You can also create a Question Set. Both options are found within the test editor on the Reuse Questions menu pictured below.
Blackboard recommends disabling any pop-up blockers for Blackboard Learn if you plan to use these features. Both options will open a pop-up window.
Using Find Questions:
The Find Questions feature lets you search your previously-created test questions and directly add the selected questions to your test.
Access the test, survey, or pool you plan to add questions to.
Select Reuse Question > Find Questions to open the Find Questions pop-up window.
In the pop-up window you can search within pools and tests, you can filter by question type, or you can use the search box to search for specific question text.
Select the check boxes for the questions you want to add.
The selected questions are shown in the area at the bottom of the screen. You can expand by clicking anywhere inside the gray area.
Once you’ve selected all the desired questions, click Submit to add the questions to the question set on the Test Canvas.
Creating a question set:
You can create a question set from previously-used test questions in your course. Question sets are a good way to select multiple questions associated with a single category. They give you the option to deliver a select number of questions within the set at random. (For example, you can have 10 questions in a question set and have Blackboard randomly choose 3 of those 10 questions to include in each test attempt.)
Access the test you would like to create a question set for.
Select Reuse Question > Create Question Set to open the Create Question Set pop-up window.
In the pop-up window you can search within pools and tests, you can filter by question type, or you can use the search box to search for specific question text.
