How do I move video files from Blackboard to Panopto?

Panopto is the best instructional technology for hosting video content at UA. This guide will assist instructors with downloading video files from Blackboard, uploading video files into Panopto, and choosing the best way to show the video to students in their course.

Why do we need to move video files from Blackboard to Panopto?

Instructors should avoid uploading large media files directly into Blackboard Learn; trying to host these files directly in Blackboard results in very large course size and causes students difficulty when trying to view course videos, particularly on slower internet connections.

Instructors who currently have video files stored in Blackboard, should move videos and media to Panopto and share to their students via a link to Panopto within Blackboard Learn. Panopto is designed to host and serve large video and media and includes various options to make the video experience better for users. These include automatic captioning and chapter divisions, searchability, download and viewing options, and more.
